Plat du Jour is an experimental platform exploring the intersection of art and life, blurring the boundaries of public and private, and finding pleasures in collaborative work, social interaction and public engagement projects.
The initiative conceived in 2017 and curated by visual artist Martha Sakellariou, was launched in November 2018 in Palo Alto CA, with Culinary action–part I, a one-off site specific art installation that explored themes around food, home, domesticity, identity. A group of female artists and artisans including a writer, an artist, a chef and a designer presented works produced as part of a long term collaborative exchange in a private residential space and invited participation from the audience over a communal table space. More info here.
PlatduJour.Project is scheduled to hold two major events annually as well as Plat du Jour Social a compact version with smaller scale series of actions that intend to connect the local creative and wider community and highlight the area where life and art intersect. Updates and event announcements will be published on instagram. For more info and collaboration opportunities contact platdujour.project
