ONE HOME ONLY [ITERATIONS]

One Home Only [Iterations] is a three-part, site-specific installation and performance series that uses the exterior of a public building as both a canvas and a stage. Created in response to the spatial and emotional constraints of pandemic sheltering mandates, the work examines the changing boundaries of domesticity through three weekly interventions. Every week presented a different intervention where a writer, two performers and a musician were invited to respond to the theme of the fragmented home in their own creative medium.

THE CUBBERLEY PROJECT

The Cubberley Project activates an urban site by celebrating a vibrant but little-known Silicon Valley community. Selected by the City of Palo Alto Public Art Program and awarded the Oakland Stock grant by public vote, the project stems from intensive community engagement and field research at the Cubberley Community Center.

From June to September 2019, the collected audio interviews and visual documentation became a series of oversized wall murals and site-specific sound installations. Every element—from the voices and projects to the captured objects and spaces—was sourced directly from the campus. A centerpiece of the exhibition, The Flower Wall, is a 39-foot mural honoring the Avenidas Bloom volunteers. This tribute highlights their work recycling donated flowers into bouquets for vulnerable and elderly community members, introducing the women’s work to the wider city. HOME FACADES

Created during the peak of pandemic lockdown in May and June 2020, this temporary photographic mural project evolved over six consecutive Sundays across neighborhood home fronts, garage doors, and fences. Together, these murals formed a visual sequence—a polyptych of house-shapes—that maps a walking path through an unexpected and reimagined suburban scene of escape portals.

By merging images of interior spaces, the body, garments, and the sea with the physical architecture of homes, the installations highlight the gaps, silences, and nostalgia for other places defined by the pandemic era at its peak time. These ephemeral interventions offered a moment of surprise and contemplation, transforming a routine neighborhood stroll into a surreal emotional journey.

200 MAIN STREET

200 Main Street (an inventory of time and place), is a participatory community project that explores the collective meaning of "home." Residents of Los Altos contributed objects, photographs, and personal insights to shape a narrative of local identity and domestic life.

By integrating contemporary contributions with historical items and archival imagery from local museums, the project culminated in a 30-foot permanent photographic mural. Installed on a public wall in Los Altos, California, the composition transforms a city surface into a communal interior, blurring the lines between public space and private history.
