THE CASITA SESSIONS is a multimedia body of work based on the idea that the home is an extension of the self. It is conceived and structured as a visual and performative exploration of possibilities in the form of chapters and short stories. The experimental nature of this work is influenced by a variety of literary forms; novellas, play-scripts, diaries, fables and parables as well as poetry, interviews and oral storytelling. The various elements create layered worlds of different perspectives and stories about the dichotomies of home and self.
The first of these series is “The Casita Sessions I” an on-site installation in a residential house scheduled for Spring-Fall 2020. Inspired by Woody Allen’s film Interiors this work is a compilation of live events that include a dance performance, a coffee reading, a dream interpretation service and a tea ceremony [by appointment only].
